"In September, a member of our dedicated Spectate team and sports enthusiast, Victoria, had the opportunity to attend the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix. After her spectacular time at the event, she is now excited to share her experience with you, and you can now find everything you need with this Singapore F1 Grand Prix 2024 guide."
My time spent at the iconic race weekend was nothing short of action-packed excitement paired with the breathtaking sights of glittering skyscrapers and the floodlit harbour.
The Marina Bay Street Circuit is undoubtedly one of the world’s most spectacular sporting venues. Weaving through the city’s streets was a spectacular experience. With the stunning Singapore skyline as the backdrop, the track is one of the season’s most demanding, promising an electric atmosphere and an action-packed night race.
Dates of the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix:
20 September – Practice Race
21 September – Qualifying Race
22 September – Race Day
Times of the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix
The race finale starts at 19:00 local time. You can expect the entertainment to begin at 13:00.
I recommend that you stay at the award winning Grand Copthorne Waterfront. Here, you’re tucked away from the bustling city where you can bask in the serenity of the waterfront location, the perfect place to relax after the excitement of the races. Enjoy the city and river views through your floor-to-ceiling windows, whether it’s under a blanket of stars or the warm glow of the morning or afternoon sun.
During my own stay at this lovely hotel, I found that the Marina Bay Circuit was easily accessed by the MRT tube system, with a station located just outside the front of the hotel; just one of the reason's I have picked it for you. When it comes time to refuel, you can indulge in the international restaurants from Italian cuisine to traditional Chinese. You can even wind down from the buzz of the race with a swim or relax in the jacuzzi.
When the race excitement is all over, don’t let your fun end there. After the Grand Prix, you have a full evening of concerts ahead of you to keep the energy of the weekend's vibrant atmosphere alive. Not far from the hotel is the Marina Bay Sands Observation deck where you can take in the skyline from 56 storeys high, and perhaps enjoy a drink or two of champagne. If you're looking to hit the town, head to Singapore's largest nightclub, Marquee. Enjoy a unique night of sensorial fun, with an eight-armed ferris wheel with a photobooth in each pod, international DJ sets and much more.
For the best viewing spots of the race, you have two exceptional options to choose from when it comes to finding the Singapore Grand Prix ticket that’s right for you. Both tickets offer breathtaking views, but their unique highlights will be the selling point for you.
One of my recommendations is the PIT Grandstand, where you can overlook the podium for the racing action. Watch the cars coming round turn 19, the tracks final turn and the tension is high, and follow them with bated breath as they drive down the straight. Plus, you can overlook the pits as well as the exciting car line up at the start of the race.
Opt for the Super PIT Grandstand for views of the start and finish line, where the passion for the Grand Prix comes alive. You won’t be able to see the podium with this ticket, however both Grandstands open their gates on Sunday and allow guests to go onto the circuit and watch the podium celebration and firework display take place. This is worth doing, as there is superb atmosphere that keeps the buzz of the event alive right until the very end.
At Spectate, we have preferential rates on hospitality and first-hand knowledge in what makes the event the best experience it can be. I experienced the great atmosphere and excitement of the event with insane hospitality package, Twenty3. You can opt for this ticket to enjoy the adrenaline rush while you’re located at the final turn before ending the weekend watching the fantastic firework display.
With Twenty3, you can revel in ultra luxury from access to three celebrity chef restaurants to alfresco dining with street food at Bay Terrace. Sip on free-flowing champagne, wines, beers, the world’s finest selection of spirits and any soft drinks at the Atrium bar or refuel on sweet treats and delicious coffee. Arrive in style with the two-way ferry service that this package offers.
One of the highlights of your Spectate package is the entry to all the post-race concerts at the circuit.
As of yet, the headline acts are yet to be confirmed, but this years’ performing artists might give you an indication of the entertainment you can expect at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2024:
• Kings of Leon
• Robbie Williams
• Boy George
• The Kooks
• Culture Club
• Post Malone
Take viewing the Singapore skyline to the next level with the SkyPark Observation Deck. With excellent panoramic views of the city to feast your eyes on from the deck, you can choose how you want to see it all, whether it's under the glorious glow of the sunset or under the stars. There’s no need to book, however be prepared to wait in queues for around 20 minutes.
If you’re a nature lover, there is nothing more spectacular in Singapore than the Gardens by the Bay and the Flower Dome. Here, you can take a stroll through the lovely gardens that are comprised of stunning man-made structures and a kaleidoscope of colourful flowers, trees and more. This is the perfect activity for a quiet day to explore the culture and superb attractions across the city.
Sentosa Island is another exciting attraction of Singapore that I recommend. The island is easy to get to and definitely worth the trip because of its pristine beaches and unforgettable landscapes. There’s plenty to do on this island to fill up your day, from digging into their historical tales of World War II to partaking in the varied adventurous activities on the beaches, lagoons, and parks.
Indulge in the retail scene of Singapore with a shopping spree in the Millenia Walk. This shopping centre is perfect for keeping the buzz of the F1 alive, even when you’re not watching them race to the finish line. The mall interacts with the F1 during the weekend, hosting an array of parties and events leading up to the Grand Prix. Plus, there are exciting activities for kids to enjoy from thrilling F1 simulators and go karts.
Head to Raffles Hotel to taste Singapore’s national drink, the Singapore sling. Savour the flavour in The Long Bar where the sling was first created and learn all about the dense history of the bar. Be sure to get there early, the queues can get quite busy!
Clark Quay is another popular destination for dining in Singapore. Whilst overlooking the scenic river views, you can choose between the delicious options of restaurants from Steakhouses and Seafood dining to Asian-inspired restaurants and much more.
Enjoy a unique dining experience at the Ritz Carlton where you can indulge in flavours of many different cultures. Enjoy the luxury of Michelin-starred dining with afternoon tea or delicious Asian dishes with the possibility of spotting the F1 drivers and celebrities, perhaps the likes of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc! Pair your exquisite meal with a refreshing drink at the bar.
The Grand Prix is the best time to experience the nightlife in Singapore. Take your pick of the many concerts happening throughout the race weekend, throughout the day and after the races. Amber Lounge is one of the most popular, prestigious events where you might encounter some celebrities and F1 drivers, so be sure to dress to impress for this event. Pre book a table with bottles to enjoy whilst listening to the DJ set.
