Our tour of India took us to the most desired areas that we had the pleasure of seeing outside the world of cricket and the sports-packed activities. We had the opportunity to explore and enjoy the best of India, embarking on excursions we could only dream about before, that just elevated our cricket experience. Vibrant culture, scenic monuments and awe-inspiring views unfolded in front of our eyes, and we’re here to tell you all about it, and what you can expect or to add to your cricket holidays in India 2024 with Spectate.

After our Golden Triangle excursion during our visit in August, we knew that this would be an extraordinary extension to your cricket holiday. Three major cities make up this triangular route – Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur, where we were able to delve into the history of each. All three cities contribute India’s history with iconic Mughal and Rajput architecture of elegant mansions and world-famous attractions including the Red Fort, Taj Mahal, the Pink City and City Palace in Jaipur, and the India Gate.
During the fifth test tour of India V England, you’ll be taken on excursions to see the diversity of life, world-famous attractions, and historic buildings of beautiful India. Embark on celebrity-hosted tours, joined by an experienced tour manager throughout to see the everything from the snow-clad Himalayan Mountains to the vibrant entertainment of Bollywood and colourful buildings of Jaipur (otherwise known as the Pink City).
During our Delhi tour, we were immersed in the heart of Indian culture with its busy narrow streets and bustling markets. The city was like nothing we had ever experienced, and our rickshaw ride proved it to be a city of two halves, taking us from the chaotic Old Delhi to the plush embassies and boulevards. Here, we stayed in The Imperial, Delhi, which has made it to the list of our favourite hotels with its blend of old and new designs, exceptional staff and serene seclusion from the hustle of the city.
We have scoped out the best historical attractions, exciting experiences, and unforgettable sightseeing opportunities for you to see yourself on the tour, plus everything you need to know for the India V England 5th Test with Golden Triangle tours.
This travel package involves superb accommodation options, transfers throughout and your return flights from London. We recommend this test match during February and March while you can experience the lovely weather as you tour the cities, perfect for enjoying some famous street food and explore the shopping streets and more bespoke tour options.
Is the Taj Mahal worth visiting? In short, yes! We loved seeing this historic monument, and few sites are as incredible as this. Located in Agra, the second historical city of our Golden Triangle tour, this awe-inspiring, ivory mausoleum stands as an important part of Indian history.
To give you an insight to what we found on our journey, it was built in the 17th Century by architect Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. In memory of his late wife, he made the building so spectacular that it is now a World Heritage Site that is a bucket-list worthy attraction for many across the world. And now, we want you to experience it all.
Seeing this world-renowned site is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we have ensured that your cricket tour will extend to such. We highly recommend you opt for this unforgettable tour from Delhi to make your tour truly unforgettable.
Udaipur, one of India’s beloved coastal cities is most famous for its stunning scenery of picturesque lakes, monumental tropical gardens and its City Palace and Museum. Enjoy this stop on the tour to soak in serene city views of the seven lakes including the green Rajsamand Lake, Lake Pichola and Fateh Sagar Lake, excellent for the weary travellers and perfect for an afternoon at leisure.
Not only can you embark on a postcard-worthy lake tour in Udaipur city, but you can visit the beachfront gardens, home to infinity pools, stunning lake views, superb dining options and beverage options if you’re seeking refreshments to cool off in the glorious sun.
A highlight of this tour is your hotel for the finale of the cricket tour. Located at the foot of the Himalayas is the Hyatt Regency Dharamshala, known for surrounding mountain beauty and exceptional views. This hotel is in the perfect place to venture out and visit the renowned temple of Dalai Lama, admiring the golden Buddha Statue that is inside the Namgyal Monastery and watch the wandering monkeys climb the trees outside the Monastery.
Perched on a hilltop is the Namgyal Monastery, the residence of His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. During your visit, you can even practice the peaceful meditation here, where you can overlook the serene views of the mountain under beautiful blue skies.
Mumbai was an exceptional experience in India, and we recommend having the afternoon tea at the Taj Mahal Hotel. The India Gate is the gateway of India stone arch that stands tall in the city that is well known for its Bollywood entertainment. The monument was our view as we dined, and it was awe-inspiring!
The city gave us another insight to the vibrant culture with hectic fish markets, flower markets and the iconic Mumbai by Dawn newspaper sorting. The Bombay Gymkhana Club was a superb place to have lunch to get out of the busy streets. You must be a member of the club to get in, offering a relaxing hour or two before heading back into it. You can end your day with a scenic trip along Marine Drive, otherwise known as the Queens Necklace because of the lights resembling a string of pearls.
The sheer beauty of the Dharamshala stadium was so awe-inspiring, we could imagine how it could be difficult to keep our eye on the action. Because of its location amid the mist-shrouded Himalayas, this stadium is often named as one of the world’s most beautiful cricket grounds, and for good reason!
We’re so excited for you to experience this magical gem in Himachal Pradesh, also referred to as, ‘Little Tibet in India’ as it is home to the Dalai Lama. The stadium was mesmerising, and it was easy to imagine the buzz of the sport enthusiasts in the crowd elevating the experience to unforgettable standards!
